He started his musical career in 2016 at the age of 19 when he released 'sweet potato, followed by 'Bedside' in the same year, the second single proved to be more successful than the former gaining more than 100,000 streams on digital platforms after weeks of release.

A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Darel went on to pursue music as a career putting but added formal education to it.
